I just read a post on facebook the other day that puzzled me. Some one had posted that anything  that they see about Phil, the Robertsons, or Duck Dynasty, they are marking as spam...

But yet I have to read how they love to get drunk, make comments about believers, hate on God, but I am to sit back and keep my mouth shut.

I will stand with my God and Phil! A man who has shown that he is not afraid to say what is on his mind. 

That man knows more of the good book than I do, so I am not going to sit here and try to quote things, and I am not a preacher man, so I am not even going to preach it to ya. But I will say, that for now on, if you offend me or my beliefs, your gonna know about it!!

I know, its a few days after Christmas, but like I said two days ago, Y'all are getting a week of this family!

Christmas is a day now that almost has lost all meaning. Its a day of greed and wants. What is to be a day of joy and happiness, is now over filled with hate and stress. If one really thinks about it, it should be called greedmas or wantmas. One could even go are far as calling it stressmas or moneymas.

Sad aint it?

A baby born out in the manger, from a virgin mother. Our Lord on Earth in our form. The Savior was born! 

If ya ask me, that right there is the most important day in our history. A day that we all should be thankful for. But yet so many take it for granted. The Lord himself took human form, a son of his own, to come to earth to live and teach. In a few months, we will show honor of his death. A day that means even more than his birth. But so so many take offence to it. 

They want the day off, or more money to work it, but they dont want to hear anything about it. Well, here is a thought for those that are like that...

How about ya celebrate a day called mas?

As for myself and family, I plan on keeping the reason of the season in it, Christ!

That statement right there I have said over and over.

I have friends of all walks of life. And its the ones who are really different to me that I almost like the best. Y'all know that God made all types, even if you dont believe in the God I do, ya know your god did too. From colors, sent, fat, skinny, and on and on. Why spend time hating or trying to offend someone due to them being different than you?

That would be like me not liking half of ya out there due to not having a beard or hair on your head. Or how about due to I like tattoos and you might hate them? It just dont make sense huh? 

I love to meet and to talk to new people, of all walks of life. I myself feel I can learn something new from them. Either new food, music, diet , anything. I just like to learn about people. And just because I dont agree with them, does not mean that I am going to turn my back on them and walk away.

If Y'all are reading this due to wanting to or ya just might have stumbled across it, you are now a friend. Until ya prove to me that we should not be, I see no reason why we cant be.

I know for so folks out there, they are sick of hearing about Phil and what he said or didnt say. But I really think we all could learn some things from that man and the rest of the family!

My wife Amy and I, one could say we a bit like Phil and Miss Kay. 

Like him, I speak my mind. I dont mean to hurt or to offend, but, Y'all know truth hurts. I love to hunt and be out in the wilderness. Simple things make me happy happy happy. I have no problem talking about my love for the Great Lord above, our one true God, or his word. Like Phil, I have a past that has made me who I am

Amy like Miss Kay loves to cook. They both have a sassy side that can just pop out. Amy has deep roots in her faith, and is proud of it. In fact I am pretty sure both of them would be able to make a dog talk if ya gave them long enough!

My point is, and think about it... Wouldn't the world be a better place if we had a few more Phil and Kays out there?

The reason...

As Y'all are getting ready for tomorrow, please keep in mind what it is that we all should be thinking of this day.

In the hustle and bustle of the day leading up to the 25th, most can only think of what they might be getting or who they forgot to buy for. But, is that the reason of the season? 

Did you put up enough lights and bows, and does the tree look like its standing straight. Is that the reason of this here season?

Making sure that you have enough stamps to send out all the cards, and who should get them in the mail or in person. I ask again, is that the reason of the season?

Are ya brave enough to grab a bull by the horns out in an open field?

Kinda a silly thing to ask dont ya think? Welp, that right there is what it would be like if  one would try to come between my kids and me. 

As I watch the news, and listen to folks around me talk, I am shocked at the least. I am truly amazed at how many folks turn their backs on their own flesh and blood. Nobody in this here world is perfect, except the Great Lord above, and I just dont understand it.

True, my kids have ticked me off, made me mad, even made me tug on my beard a time or two, but nothing they have done would make me turn my back on them.

Too many folk out there are out for themselves. No matter what the cost. I do not know how I would go on if my kids turned their back on me. Family is one of those things that ya only get one of. Once its gone...Its gone.

Maybe I am stuck back a few years or something. Have I got lost in times? Nope, I just know what is important to me and worth protecting. Kids will be kids. They are going to make ya mad, make mistakes, but life goes on. Live and learn...

Little things...

A few days back, I told Y'all about a day I would love to go back to. A day at the beach with my love beside me. 

I can still feel the sun on my skin, the taste of salt in the air,  the sound of the waves crashing and the fear of being pooped on by those darn flying demons! But most of all, I can still feel a hand holding mine. I can still see the smile on her face. I can still hear the kids laughing as the played out in the water.

There are other days too. Like when Amy and I would just drive for hours. Talking, singing, laughing, and getting lost just to see where we would come out at. The countless hours we spent at the local truckstop, not eating, just talking. 

I guess what I am trying to get at here folks, is that life is what you make it. If I thought of all the wrong things that had happened through out the years,  I would have forgotten about those simple little things.

Its those little things that one can keep going back to.

I had a look long before this show ever came out, and to be honest, I never watched the show until everybody started to ask me about it.

Why is it that folks think they can come off and ask questions like that? 

I know, its not really a big thing, but it does get old after awhile. But it did make me think of a few things

1. I must be a large black lady due to the fact I like to give and make folks smile.

2.I must hunt turtles since I talk a bit funny

3. I think I must run beer across state lines due to I drive a truck

4. I must be a pro-wrestler with my nick name

5. Or I am trying out for ZZtop

I think Y'all know where I am going with all that. I know most are just having a bit of fun when they say it, but it does get old.

I cant lie, That right there was one huge fear I had when I took my daughter fishing the first time. I could just see her walking around hugging the fish and not wanting to either eat it or throw it back.

Or better yet, I wonder if it did happen, what would happen if it was a big ol' catfish? I bet that there hug would turn into a huge kick!

What matters...

Aint that about the truth! 

I am not one for following any trends or styles, so I never really worry about what I have looked like trough out the years. But as I have gotten older, I do worry about what I have become. I do not want to become an grumpy old man like so many.

When I am dead and gone, I hope folks can remember what good I have done, and forget the so many wrongs. I hope my children can tell others that I was a good or decent person. 

So many people worry about what they look like, or what they drive. Not the things that matter.

Is it really that simple?

I feel if a boy or a man feels they are ready to lay down with a female, and take the chance of bringing another life to this world, well, man up and take full responsibility. And yes, its that simple.

Why should I or any of Y'all out there have to take care of another that is not ours? Dont get me wrong, I have a heart three times the size of  Texas, but I dont not feel I should have to watch my money pay for some stupid mans mistake. And better yet, why do I have to fork the bill for some girl who cant keep her legs closed, and pops out a kid every year or two.

We the people of this great nation known as America, have become so dumb and laid back when it comes to welfare. We hand it out like candy at a county fair parade. We fork the bills of some many out there that are just plain lazy, dont want to work. If Y'all are like me, ya can name about 5 local family's that have lived on it through out generations. Folks who are just freeloaders, looking for a handout, and wanting it all for free.

And the sad thing to me, is when you know of someone who really does need the help, and they can not get it due to they made a buck too much. I am seeing more and more of that everyday. In fact, i was there once.I for one know what its like to go without. And I really think its time that many others learn that too. If you do not want to work, you do not get! Yes, That simple!

And here is another question maybe some one out there can answer for me...

Why in the hell am I flipping the bill for someone who is not a citizen ???

If you do not belong, go back to where you came from and do it right. Take the steps to become an American. We still are the land of hopes and dreams, but for the love of Pete, do it right!

I could go on and on about this, but I am not. All I am going to ask of ya, is to watch more closely to what is going on around y'all. if ya feel it aint right, its time to stand up and take a stand on where and what your money is doing. Get ahold of your local reps and tell them no more free handouts!

The end has come...

For some of ya out there, Y'all might know that the end of my normal life has came to an end.

Yes, He passed his driving test...

Now, the only thing keeping me sane at the moment is 

1. its been snowing everyday since

2. he is sicker than a dog

3. my wife has needed her car everyday

But, I know the snow will end, and he will get rid of the flu, and my wife wont need her car everyday.

But a guy can only hope right?!?

Gods little hints...

This fall I was running late for work, nothing new. But this site I had to stop and soak in.

I left the house being my grumpy morning self, leaving my wife and kids for the day in a not so nice way, like I had done many times before.

On this morning, it was like God himself pulled my truck over to look at the view. As I stepped out of my truck, my summer vacation came to mind. I could see the smiles on my kids faces as we walked down the board walk. I sent off the ocean filled the air as a vision of my wife came into my mind. 

I myself believe that was him letting me know that its the little things in life that matter.

Sad to say, I took that day for granted like so many of us do.

We all have that day we wish we could go back to, and this would be mine. Folks, we all let things come between marriages. Money, stress, work, and this list goes on. But it is the little things that keep it together. Its the little notes that she has put in my lunch box. Its the understanding tears when I cry over my parents. Its the hugs that I get out of no where. 

Ya see folks, its the things that we might skip over everyday that matter.

I just thank the Lord for opening my eyes every once in awhile to remember this.

I am far from being the best father. But I do try.

Through out my years of being a dad, I have learned a few things that I would like to pass on to y'all out there.
1. Allow God in y'alls home. There is no greater influence for a child. The Holy Bible is the best text book and teaching tool out there.
2. y'all have to be a parent first, and a friend second. I see so many parents today allowing their children run them, run the house. Thats not the way it works. Keep in mind, a good teaching today, keep a hard lesson learned away tomorrow.
3. Show them that you love them everyday. One way or another, show them that y'all do care what happens in their day.
4. Take the time to watch them grow. Learn who they are becoming and who they are going to turn out to be. Remember, they are your future.
5.Spend time with them in what they enjoy. Its funny what y'all can learn today.
6. Live for the little moments. you yourself may not think too much of them at the time, but they could be what they remember the most.
7. I learned this one from my wife
(yes, I just admitted that)
Do not be afraid to show love to the spouse. They too need to see what love is
8. Read number one Again
9. Now read the second one...Again
10. Start at 1 and go to the bottom of the list again

Story time...

As many of ya know, i love my guns. I am a huge Second Amendment supporter, and there aint nobody out there that is gonna change that.

With that out there, I went in last year to the local courthouse to renew my gun permit. I do not like having my pic taken at all! Just ask my wife, I will not smile for them. But in this pic, you will see a grin on my face.

The lady behind the camera kept telling me to smile, and i kept telling her I was on the inside.As this was going on, a family walked into the office to apply for their permits. It was a man and wife, along with to small children. 

Well, thats all it took...

As I was standing there, the young boy, who looked to be about 5 or 6 told his little sister , who looked 4 or 5 , see, I told you Santa carried a gun!

Needless to say, yes, I smiled in that pic. In fact, I think the poor lady had to take it two or three times due to me laughing!

And then the other night, as most of ya know, I am a state plow driver, I was out in a storm. I stopped at the local stop and rob to get a bottle of water and fresh coffee. The folks who work there are great to us drivers, and for the most part, the public that stops in are too.

As I was in line waiting to pay, I heard a young boy tell his mother that he now knows that times are bad. She asked him how he would know that? He said that it was simple...

Santa had to get a real job to pay for Christmas!!!

Words hurt...

I can relate to that there little bugger! Every time I would walk into a store, I knew i was coming out with something sweet to chow down on! No wonder I was over four hundred pounds...

I have fought all my life with weight issues. It got to the point to where i just gave up and told myself what it is, it is. 

From a young child, I was picked on from everybody, and I mean everybody. But all jokes aside, it helped form the man y'all know today.

I am know to be the anti-bully. I dont not look at others as being fat, skinny, rich, poor, dirty, preppy, and on and on. We are all the same no matter how you try to label someone. We all bleed red when cut. 

Have y'all ever seen the look of in the eyes of someone who has been bullied? The pain that they feel? Do you have any idea how heavy their heart is? 

WORDS HURT FOLKS!!!

As y'all look at the change that happened to me on the outside, keep in mind that what is on the inside has not. I will still be the first one to step in the middle of someone being picked on or bullied. I will be the bully to the bully.

In my eyes, I am always going to be that fat kid, its what I see. But if I am willing to stand up, dont ya think y'all should too?

Wouldnt you want someone looking out for you child, your friend, your family? I know ya wouldnt put up with it.

Talk with your kids, let them know its not right to pick or bully just because someone is different.

If y'all see it happening, step into the middle of it! Put a stop to it!

Keep in mind if you are one of the ones who are doing it...

Yep, we all know what today is...

Monday!

The start of a new work week. Now we have to go 5 more days until the weekend get here...

But wait, Y'all are reading this, so that means ya woke up. Instead of thinking of all that is or could go wrong this week, y'all should be saying thanks to the new day. Keep in mind, today is the first day of the rest of your life. And we all know that we do not know when its gonna end.

The great wall of...

That right there folks, is a really big wall! And you know what the great wall was for dont ya??

I was to keep other folks out. China's great wall is the largest wall made by man right?

NOPE!

Y'all out there I bet know of someone who has built there own. No, it cant be seen, but it can be felt! I am talking about the kind of walls folks build around themselves to hide or protect their emotions. Now, this might work for some, but I am here to tell ya, not everyone can pull it off.

I'll be the first to admit it, see that pic above, thats like my wall. My wall can be put up in a flash! Its cold as ice on the out side, but what is on the inside is what one has to watch out for. See, mine is one of anger and rage. And that right there folks, is a mighty dangerous combo! The outer parts, bricks if ya will, are made up of ice blocks. That way, my cold appearance keeps those warm buggers out. But, if that pesky bugger chips at it enough, they find out the hard way whats on the inside. And that inside is a lava hot that will cook a person. That lava consists of the rage and anger that I put there to protect myself.

Now, dont get me wrong Y'all, i dont build that wall as much as I use too. In fact, I have found out over the years, its not to healthy to do that at all. Not only does it make my blood boil, but its not to good on the health of a marriage.

I guess what I am trying to tell ya folks out there is, if you are a wall builder, dont build it to high that another can help. Not only are you pushing and keeping that person out, in the long run, your only hurting yourself.

Today, my boy is going to go take his driving test. So, its either going to be a great day for him and a worried night for me, or it could mean that I get to keep my beard intact for another week. Either way, its just hard to believe that I am so young to have a child that old!

New books...

Its kind of funny how the world goes off of looks.

I have been told right to my face, that I am the meanest looking nice guy that folks have met. And when they find out what I do in my spare time in the summer, they are shocked to say they least.

I am a husband, a father of two, a son, a brother and on and on. Folks take one look at my large size, the long gray beard, the shaved head, along with my jeans, work boots, and gun right shirts, and first thoughts are...

He is gonna kill me!!

Its just like the old saying, you can never judge a good book by its cover. Its what is on the inside that matters. So the next time y'all are out, and you see that scary looking book, maybe try to open it up to see what the story is on the inside. It just might be one of the best reads!!

Not so new family...

I dont know about y'all out there, but I am so glad to see some real shows come back on tv! A show that has meaning, one that has some morals to it. 

I know, I know...

Y'all are  thinking I like it due to the cast has beards, well, maybe! 

OR

It could be that I am half way on my way to becoming Si, and thats a fact Jack!!

But all jokes aside, my respect grew for this group of men and the ladies too, when they said that if they had to stop talking about God during their show, that the show would be no longer. And when asked to remove the use of guns, no show.

This here is what we have lost through out the years. Not only God, but morals. Have y'all seen how the ladies dress? No boobs hanging out, no cleavage, and no foul mouths! And the guys, keep it clean and respectful too!

The Robertson's are the kind of familys we need to see more of. They stick together, but more importantly, they pray together!

So instead of following everybody else, maybe its time we all just take a huge step back and take a look at our own lives.

Admit it, we all could use a little bit more Si in our lives, one way or another!!

But let me tell you folks what I see. I see a calmness. A real sight of life. A peace like no other. A spot in this crazy world that is protected by the same things that will  and could harm us.

My fuzzy buddy Kash here knows what I am talking about. I find it rather funny with the step he is laying on.

We Do Mistakes

We all do make them, in more ways than one i might add. 

Whether we want to admit it or not, we are like those frozen berries. Out in the cold, allowing what ever may come our way cover us in a mess that we do not intend on being in. But with our mistakes, we all allow ourselves to keep being dumped on. We let the ice build up until its too late.

The good Lord above gave us the skills to use to help one another. To teach one another how to improve and learn from mistakes. But with all that has become in this world, folks just sit back and watch others be buried alive in their own mistakes. 

There is just so much I could say on this subject, but I do feel it best to let a few pics do the talking.

Broad shoulders, heavy load...

How many of Y'all can walk on water?

None? That is surprising! With the way tons of folks talk, I thought for sure some could! I'm not perfect, not even close. Just like all on Earth, I have faults, and I am able to admit it!

With that said, I want to tell y'all about a dream I had at the start of the week. I normally don't talk about my dreams, but this one kind of shook me up a bit. I'm not sure if I died in this dream, but I was able to look down at myself and everyone that was around me. I could hear how they were talking about me and my life, and it hurt.
I could hear my wife and kids, and it was not good! I could hear everything from what I did wrong, never did right, and what they thought of me.
Beside them was my two brothers, all I heard was what a loser I was. How I was a spoiled brat, and got away with too much.
The in laws were saying that my wife should of never married me, and should of left me years ago. That I never amounted to nothing.
There was friends of mine that thought it was funny, and that I would be forgotten in less than a day, if not in less time.

This past week, I can honestly say that dream has huanted me!
To be honest, I feel I have failed.
I really do...
I hear it in the way I am talked to.
I see the looks I get.
I feel the harder I try, the harder I fail!

But do we all not fail? Even those of you who may look down on me, I know very well you can not walk on water! And if truth be told, your a failure just like me. The only thing that differs from us...

Christmas list, part two...

After I posted my list, I do have another list. But it's not just for me, it's for Y'all out there. Show the world around you some Christmas cheer

1. Buy someone who is down on their luck their meal

2. Buy a $25.00 gift card and walk up to a total stranger and hand it to them

3. Buy a hot cup of coffee or hot chocolate for the local bell ringer, it's cold out

4. Help a child at a store with a gift for their parents

5. If you are in line at lay-a-way, put $25.00 or so on the person in front or behing you

6. Make sure to help the elderly

7. Go to a nursing home and just visit a new found friend

8. Help at a food pantry or soup kitchen

9. Get a group of Y'all together and go caroling 

10. Help the soon to be or new mother at the stores

11. Invite someone or a family in your home who is down on their luck

12. And this one my friends is the most important one...

Keep Christ in Christmas

Remember the real reason behind the season!

Christmas list 2013...

Every year we are asked to make a list to give to someone that has what we would like on it, here is mine for 2013...

1. To hear my Mum yell Joseph one more time as she smacks me in the back of the head for saying something 

2. To listen to my Dad sing and watch him dance around one more time

3. To be able to smell the cook stove and Sunday dinner at my Grandmas

4. To go fishing again with my childhood friends

5. To tell Butch just how much he really did for me before he passed

6. To play cards again with Shirley...And to take all her pennies

7. To be able to give all to my wife and kids

8. To have my dog be able to walk normal again

9. To have Christmas dinner with my parents and brothers one more time

10. To ride the roller coaster again with my Dad at Blands Park

11. To have a job i enjoy going to

12. To be able to continue to loose weight

That folks would be my 12 days of Christmas wish list.

The wrong person

I do my best to earn my pay. I will miss breaks, work through lunch, and do the dirty work no one wants to do. I stepped forward and and took two job titles no one wanted. My job, it's a thankless one. Y'all see, I am a state worker. The public thinks were all worthless, and to be honest, so does management! Everyone thinks I make the big buck, but I am looking for another job just to make ends meet. 

We the workers are the backbone, no two ways about it. We are the ones who sweat, bleed, miss out on family time, yet the lowest form of life. We get called out durning Thanksgiving meals, or while our children open presents Christmas morning. But never a "thanks". 

We do the work for some foreman, and even a few higher ups. Why, because we are told to. 

I was told that I made a huge mistake when I took the two job titles. I just brushed it off. Well, today I found out they was right. I know a job is what you make it, and I try to make the best of it... Till today!

I now plan on coming to work, doing my job, and going home. I will no longer place trust in management at all. I know now that everyone is here for themselves. I will still be the first to jump in to give a hand. I'll still do the best work I can do. I will even try to advance, but not for them, for us, the thankless.

I know that I myself will never be able to change how this place is ran. But I will not treat others the way I have been.

Brightest crayon in the box...

I find it pretty funny how stupid people really can be. No, really! Can't people look in the mirror and see it? Is there a pill yet for this?

I know, you can't fix stupid. One can only high five them... In the face.... With a chair.... Multiple times!

So with that said, I know I am not the brightest crayon in the box, but come on. With the way technology is today, and the rumor and drama mills are, it's not hard to figure things out.

I know, short and kind of a silly rant, but I had to get it off my chest!
